How More Recruiters Can Find You

Want more recruiters to find you?

One of the easiest ways to be more visible to recruiters is to be more active on LinkedIn.

The LinkedIn algorithm will favor you if you consistently engage with the platform.

The more engaged you are online, the more you'll show up in other people's searches.

Remember a lot (like 90%) of recruiters are on this platform looking for you.

And you'll bubble to the top of their searches if you are an active LinkedIn user.

It's an easy strategy to implement while you are job searching… and a good one to keep doing even after you’re hired. Always be networking.

Let me tell how having a LinkedIn strategy has helped my career and share with you my tips to leverage the platform. Lez go.

Here are a few nice things that have happened since I started engaging daily on LinkedIn:

Pivoted my career from sales to career coaching in under 6 months
Asked to speak on 8+ webinars, including one with Twilio
Got featured in the NYT and Wall Street Journal
Generated ~$200k in side hustle revenue
Multple founders approached me and offered me jobs at their company
Befriended some of my favorite leaders in the industry
Helped clients get offers that together amount to a cumulative $4M+

How cool is that! And this is just the highlight reel.

It all started because I began posting daily on LinkedIn.

There is so much power in putting yourself out into the world and letting people know what you are about.

For me, building a brand on LinkedIn changed my life.

I know posting is not everyone's jam, but I'm here to tell you that you don't need to create content to take advantage of the network effect.

Doing smaller actions consistently can help you land your next job.

Here are my tips to boost yourself on LinkedIn.

Make sure your profile is optimized and your professional brand is clear.

Your LinkedIn profile (and resume) are where your career story begins and it should compel people to want to reach out to you.

You have about 5-10 seconds to make a good first impression with your profile before people decide if it's worth reaching out to you.

So it must be sharp and clear.

Think of it like a sales page, because that's what your profile really is. The main function of it should be to have more conversations and get you more interviews.

If that is not happening, make small adjustments to your profile.

Once you have a profile that's optimized it's time to engage.

Use this simple daily LinkedIn routine:

💡Follow leaders in your industry/career path

💡Leave 2-5 thoughtful comments every day on their content

💡Send 2-3 connection requests to strangers every day

That's it, keep it simple. Should only take you max 15-30 minutes each time.

Don't overthink it, just build the habit.

Tip the LinkedIn algorithm in your favor – it can’t hurt, especially if you are job searching right now.

More recruiters will find you and more opportunities will come your way.

In fact, building your personal brand online can significantly help you stand out as a candidate now and in the future.

If you do it well enough, you will not need to job search in the future because jobs will come to you! That's facts. 👈🏽
