The Job Board Report: VC Portfolio Companies
I'm back with a new installment of The Job Board Report. This edition is all about finding jobs within VC Portfolio Companies.
Let's get right into it.
This week's focus: Venture Capital Portfolio Companies
Review: Kapor Capital Talent Network
Overview
-- Kapor Capital is just one of thousands of Venture Firms that aggregate all the open jobs at their portfolio companies. I am using them as an example because I like their values and investing ethos.
Who it’s good for
-- Job seekers interested in tech startup jobs.
Pros
-- There are a lot of VC job borads out there
-- Search filters are good
-- You can see a good mix of jobs at early, mid, and late stage startups
Cons
-- If you are in a career that doesn't get hired by startups, these job boards might not be as fruitful.
Unique features
-- Most VC job boards are powered by Getro, Pallet, or Consider. These three seem to be the most popular backend platforms most firms use. Go to these sites to discover new VC firms.
Ease of use rating - 5/5
Job quality rating - 4/5
Tips for using this job board
If you are not familiar with any venture firms, go to the backend platforms listed above and see who their customers are to find more.
The bigger the firm the more portcos and therefore more jobs.
Google or AI can also help you find VC firms that have a certain investment focus (i.e. Climate Tech, BIPOC Founders, Female Founders, Health Tech, etc)
