You Must Look Everywhere on the Internet for Jobs

Alright back to our regularly scheduled programming :)
Today I want to talk to you about the importance of looking everywhere on the internet for jobs.
Many job seekers spend the majority of their time looking for open roles on 2-3 major job boards like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Indeed.
But there a soooo many more places to find open roles in tech.
If you are only looking at these major boards you are missing out on A LOT of other opportunities.
To find faster success in your job search, I suggest looking in every corner of the internet for new jobs.
I advocate for a high-volume job search process for the best results and faster job offers - aka applying to at least 30 jobs every week.
But in order to hit that number you have to diversify where you look for open roles.
Personally, I’m a collector of job boards, meaning I have a folder tab with bookmarked links to 50+ job boards.

Sidenote: Check out Module 2 of my workbook to get access to this list of tech job boards.

If you are job searching I suggest you start bookmarking job boards too.
This will help you speed up your job search and cycle through various sites faster to find different open roles.
There are job boards focused on being industry-specific, role specific, affinity group specific, hyper-focused on certain sectors of tech and much more.
This is especially true post-pandemic because since so many jobs are remote and a lot more niche job boards popped up.
For example, here are a few cool job boards I found this week:
Climatebase (jobs in climate tech)
Concrete Rose Capital Portfolio Jobs (companies building inclusive cultures)
Responsible Tech Job Board (ethical tech jobs)
Federal Tech Job Board (government tech jobs)
There are A LOT of other job boards out there, you just gotta do research.
In addition to job boards, you can also find open roles posted in various places online.
Don't forget to search in these places:
Slack communities
Affinity communities
Hashtags on social media
Following leaders in your industry
Company career pages
BTW if you see an open role, even if the posting is a few months old, still apply.
You never know what’s happening with the hiring process for that role until you apply.
Every role you see, no matter how "old" the posting is, is fair game.
The length of the posting has no meaning or indication as to what is happening withe the hiring process.
So shoot your shot and just apply. Then keep it moving and find more open roles.
P.S. Module 2 of the workbook teaches in detail how to keep your job pipeline full for faster offers, including the email templates you need to get responses.
